6th Congress of DWUK Held

Pyongyang, November 19 (KCNA) -- The 6th Congress of the Democratic Women's Union of Korea (DWUK) was held in Pyongyang Thursday and Friday. The Congress reviewed the successes and experience gained in carrying out the cause of the party and the cause of building a powerful socialist country after the 5th Congress and discussed tasks and ways for the revolutionary women's organization to creditably discharge their mission and duty in implementing the decision made by the 7th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK). The Congress approved the following agenda items: 1. On the review of the work of the Central Committee of the DWUK. 2. On the review of the Central Auditing Commission of the DWUK. 3. On renaming the women's union. 4. On the election of the central guidance organ of the women's union. 5. On the revision of the rules of the women's union. Conveyed at the congress was a letter "Let Us Further Intensify the Work of the Women's Union under the Banner of Modeling the Whole Society on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism" sent by supreme leader Kim Jong Un to the participants in the 6th Congress of the DWUK. -0-
