7,000 Syrian, Lebanese families get Emirati assistance

BEIRUT, 23rd March 2016 (WAM) - The UAE embassy, through its humanitarian affairs attaché and in collaboration with the Lebanese Red Cross, has continued its aid distribution activities in Lebanon's Iqlim al-Kharroub, as part of the UAE's Response to Syrian Families and Affected Lebanese campaign in the winter of 2016.
Over 7,000 families benefited from the campaign, which is being taken under a grant from the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation. The families received food parcels and cleaning items.
Aid packages were distributed yesterday to 500 families in Shahma area as part of the campaign.
The UAE Ambassador to Lebanon Hamad Saeed Sultan Al Shamsi renewed the pledge to continue providing assistance to needy Syrian and Lebanese families, in line with the UAE leadership's directives.
The UAE's Response to Syrian Families and Affected Lebanese campaign began on the 13th of February and will include offering assistance to 24,280 Syrian and Lebanese families at a cost of US$ 1.5 million, and will cover many Lebanese provinces. – Emirates News Agency, WAM - http://www.wam.ae/en/news/international-aid/1395293250413.html
