Abe Highlights Public-Private Partnership in African Aid
Nairobi, Aug. 28 (Jiji Press)--Prime Minister Shinzo Abe highlighted Sunday Japan's policy of promoting public-private partnership in providing assistance to Africa.
"It's clear that the power of the private sector is needed for sustainable high-quality growth of Africa. Japanese corporations' sophisticated technologies will contribute to solving development challenges in Africa," Abe said in an address to a forum of dialogue with the private sector at the Sixth Tokyo International Conference on African Development, or TICAD VI, in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi.
Abe requested Africa to create a safe environment for doing business and ensure free and stable corporate activities.
The dialogue forum was also attended by Sadayuki Sakakibara, chairman of the Japan Business Federation, or Keidanren. He is one of representatives from some 80 Japanese companies and business groups who accompanied the prime minister on his visit to Kenya.
