About 200 Thai youths join robot competitions in Malaysia

BANGKOK, November 9 (TNA) - Some 200 Thai students left Bangkok for Kuala Lampur, Malaysia's capital, Friday morning to participate in the World Robot Olympiad 2012, scheduled for November 9-11. The youths are Thailand's representatives in separate 30 teams to compete in the World Robot Olympiad this year, with last year's champions also participating, including those from Yothinburana School in Bangkok and Chaiyapum Phakdee Chumpol of the country's northeastern Chaiyaphum province. The young Thai teams told journalists prior to their departure that they are better prepared for this year's competitions than last year's. Youths from all over the world are participating in the World Robot Olympiad 2012, which includes a competition on automatic robots and football robots, assembled from Legos and planted with computer chips. The Thaicom Foundation has also selected six Thai youths as national representatives in the football robots competition, under the category of 18 years old. (TNA)
