Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ During the Cabinet’s regular meeting on November 15, Minister of Justice and Home Affairs Ts.Nyamdorj reported on the follow-up actions taken after the issuance of a Prime Ministerial ordinance on regulation of illicit use of beacons on government vehicles. In the last 15 days, the number of permits of beacon use on government vehicles has been reduced by 500, said the Minister. There were 1,920 permits originally. After inspecting the use of beacon, the traffic police confiscated 80 vehicle licenses, 64 driver’s licenses and 25 beacons, and fixed 25 violations. Moreover, the corresponding officials inspected 778 vehicles used by government organizations that are allowed to use beacons and signals, and detected 102 violations. Correction of the violations will be reported back. The Cabinet agreed that the Regulatory Procedure on Use of Beacon on Vehicles should be revised and the monitoring procedure must be intensified.
