Abu Dhabi Plan paints the future of the Emirate and sets its long term goals, says Mohammed bin Khalifa

ABU DHABI, 16th June, 2016 (WAM) – H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Member of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Retirement Pensions and Benefits Fund, has stressed that since the era of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the UAE leadership has been looking forward to achieving comprehensive development to ensure the welfare of citizens. In a statement, on the announcement of the Abu Dhabi Plan developments, he added that the development course is being continued by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and followed up by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, to translate these aspirations into the Abu Dhabi Plan. He said the plan paves the way towards establishing a confident, safe community and building a sustainable and open economy, with an ability to compete. "The Abu Dhabi Plan paints features of the emirate's future and sets long-term goals. It stimulates the performance of non-oil sectors and achieves co-operation among the government agencies by directing them towards clear and specific goals to meet the needs and aspirations of the Emirate." Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa underlined that each government agency is working today in accordance with the strategic plan aligned with the Abu Dhabi Plan and operates a range of programmes and projects that contribute to the goals of the plan. He noted that financial and human resources are now geared more effectively towards achieving the main objectives of the emirate. "The social development sector is one of the most important sectors that provides vital services which affect the life of an individual in the community," he added.
