ABU DHABI, 22nd August 2016 (WAM) --- The Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET) on Sunday launched a new cycle of its "Life Skills 2016", an initiative consisting of 20 training programmes, in collaboration with 19 educational institutions from across the UAE.
The move is in line with the recent call of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to use military, educational and cultural activities to help build capabilities of the students and instil patriotism, values and ethics in them.
Director-General of the ACTVET, Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi, said the centre is developing its 2016-2020 strategy and all future plans of its affiliate centres following directives from the country's top leaders to build the capabilities of the youth and empower generations for global competitiveness and meeting the demand of labour market and existing and future projects in the UAE.
Students from grades 6 to 12 are involved in the new programmes which encompass areas like robotics, car and jet engine maintenance, jewellery design, fashion design, photography, web design and others. – Emirates News Agency, WAM - http://www.wam.ae/en/news/emirates/1395299036650.html
