Airport rail link partly suspends service after woman falls on track

BANGKOK, June 19 (TNA) – A 30-year-old woman was killed after she fell onto a track at the Baan Thap Chang station of Airport rail link, causing the service at the station to be temporarily suspended. The incident occurred at 7 am and rescue workers retrieved her body, later sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine. Train service continues to run from Suvarnbhumi Airport to Lat Krabang station and from Hua mark station to Phayathai station while the Baan Tap Chang station is temporarily closed for investigation. Currently, only Suvarnabhumi Airport station is fitted with platform automatic screen doors. The Airport Rail Link operator is in the process of installing more platform doors at other seven stations. The electronic auction for the planned installation is set on July 27 within the budget of 200 million baht. The construction at the first station is scheduled to be finished in April next year.
