Anadolu Agency's energy journalism trainees graduate
ANKARA
A group of 20 foreign journalists, who took part in Anadolu Agency's energy journalism training program, obtained their training certificates on Friday after completion of the two-week-long program.
The training, organized by Anadolu Agency's News Academy in collaboration with the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) as part of its journalism-training program, began on April 8.
Turkey's Energy Ministry, the Energy Market Regulatory Authority, Turkish Petroleum, an academic from Turkey's Middle East Technical University, an expert from the TurkStream pipeline company and Anadolu Agency's Energy Desk editors trained the journalists from Moldova, Albania, Georgia, Afghanistan, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Egypt, Serbia, South Sudan and Venezuela.
The training they received covered subjects ranging from news reporting techniques, energy policies, energy law and security, and an overview of global natural gas and oil markets.
Speaking at the certificate ceremony, Mehmet Samil Emin, an expert from the TIKA congratulated the reporters on their successful completion of the program, and said the training marked the expansion of its vision to create a better world through TIKA's contributions.
TIKA was established in 1992 to develop strong collaborative ties with the Turkic Republics, but this has now expanded to include 61 offices in 59 different countries to cover its humanitarian work in more than 150 countries, Emin explained.
Participants also thanked TIKA and Anadolu Agency for offering such "comprehensive and efficient" training.
