Another charge against Red Bull heir expired
BANGKOK, Sept 4 (TNA) – Another charge against the fugitive Red Bull billionaire heir in the 2012 fatal hit-and run accident expired yesterday and now, only one charge of reckless driving, causing death remains valid against the suspect.
The statute of limitations on a charge of failing to help an accident victim and inform police expired on Sunday, five years after Vorayuth Yoovidhya or Boss allegedly drove his Ferrari into a motorcycle of a Thonglor traffic policeman, killing him after the victim was dragged for about 200 metres.
Another two minor charges of excessive speeding and reckless driving causing damage to other’s properties against him had expired in 2013. Now, the last and the most serious count on reckless driving, leading to death will legally valid until 2027. This charge is punishable with a jail term of up to 10 years and a fine of up to Bt20,000.
Mr Vorayuth has been on Interpol’s “Red Notice” for arrest in 190 countries and the Thai authorities continue to pursue the case to bring him back to Thailand for prosecution. (TNA)
