ASEAN music teachers perform King Rama IX’s compositions
BANGKOK, June 14 (TNA) -- Music teachers of ten Southeast Asian nations performed the compositions of King Bhumibol Adulyadej in honor of the late king.
The Department of Cultural Promotion organised an ASEAN workshop on music and dancing art on June 11-13.
The fifth annual workshop was aimed at allowing music and dance teachers from ten members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations to exchange their expertise so that they can teach their students on positive attitudes towards the ASEAN Community.
About 350 teachers attended the workshop and learned the musical instruments of one another’s country.
Then they performed four compositions of King Bhumibol with vocalists from Ramkhamhaeng University. They played HM Blues, Love at Sundown, Blue Day and Oh I Say in honor of the late King who was considered as a great artist in various fields including music.
The performance also showed the unity of ASEAN through the member states’ various musical instruments that impressively and harmoniously created beautiful sounds. (END)
