Auction of a plane failed at Don Mueang

BANGKOK, Sept 6 (TNA) -- The Legal Execution Department organised an auction of Airbus A310-222 at Don Mueang airport in Bangkok on Wednesday but had to abort it later because there was not a bidder. In its first auction of a commercial airplane, the department set the starting price at 30 million baht based on the evaluation by Watson Farley & Williams (Thailand) Co that asked the department to seize it in January last year. A representative of the company was present in the auction. The department set the next round of the auction on Sept 27 and will lower the starting price by 10% to 27 million baht. Penrawee Masaeng, a legal execution official supervising the auction, said Watson Farley & Williams (Thailand) had sued its debtors Asia Konnex Airlines and Sakarach Chatraporn because they had failed to repay their debt. The latest flight of the 270-seater airplane was from Incheon airport, South Korea, to Don Mueang airport on Jan 13, 2016. The plane was seized that day. A representative of Watson Farley & Williams (Thailand) said the defendants had no other assets. (TNA)
