Baby Boy Wrapped In Cardboard Box Discarded In Pesaman
Simpang Ampek, W Sumatra, March 19 (Antara) - A two-day old baby boy wrapped in an instant noodle cardboard box was discarded by unidentified person at a roadside at West Pasaman village of Muaro Kiawai, West Sumatra, police has said.
"The baby boy estimated to be two days old was still breathing when a resident found him at a roadside of Jorong Kartini street and now still in an intensive care at Jambak general hospital, said chief of Gunung Tuleh police post, First Inspector, Mulkani said here on Tuesday.
According to him, the baby boy`s mother has allegedly discarded him at a roadside, and police still investigating the case.
"We continue to investigate motive of the baby boy disposal, and why his mother committed the matter," the police said.
Meanwhile, the Muara Kiawai village chief, Harju said that the baby boy was initially found by a resident, Kruman,59 at Jorong Kartini roadside. When Harju passed by the street, he saw a cardboard box at a roadside with a little movement.
When he opened the box, he found a little baby boy, who was rapped in a long cloth, and his cord still attached to the baby`s body.
Then, many residents looked at the occurence and one of them reported the case to the police.
