BACA President participates in Jeddah Art initiative

Manama, Feb. 7 (BNA): President to Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, today participated in the opening of the fifth edition of Jeddah Art 21,39 initiative being organized by Saudi Art Council in Saudi Arabia.
The BACA President said the cultural movement and infrastructure reflect the Gulf communities’ cultural and civilizational richness, adding through the universal language of art the world communities communicate with each other and establish relations and networks.
She said beautiful artistic works have been witnessed in Saudi Arabia, which address the people, noting cultural initiatives, such as Jeddah art, contribute to promoting the national cultural and civilizational production.
She commended the Saudi Art Council efforts to support local art and establish cultural exchange with countries of the world.
The fifth Jeddah Art exhibition is themed (Refusing to be still) featuring works by more than 30 Saudi and international artists. A number of workshops and activities target engaging the public in art practices will also be held in various places in Jeddah.
Jeddah Art is a non-profit initiative launched by Saudi Art Council in February 2014 including a cluster of programmes to highlight the Saudi cultural scene.
