Bahrain-Korea health cooperation discussed

Manama, July 5 (BNA): Health Minister Faeqa Saeed Al Saleh has received South Korean Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Koo Hyun-Mo.
The minister praised the ambassador’s efforts in consolidating the amicable ties between the two countries and peoples. She reviewed with him significant topics related to healthcare services, upcoming projects, plans and developmental programmes aimed to upgrade the quality of healthcare services provided to citizens and residents in the Kingdom.
The two sides on Tuesday explored ways of boosting the cooperation citing a proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the field of health to benefit from Korean medical and health expertise. The MoU is currently being considered and studied to reach its final form and to present it for approval of the relevant departments in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The ambassador praised the advanced level of bilateral ties, expressing his gratitude and appreciation to the minister, aspiring to open new vistas of fruitful cooperation between the two sides in the field of health. He also praised the kingdom’s advanced development t in all fields, especially in the healthcare sector, wishing Bahrain to achieve more progress and prosperity. He indicated that a team of South Korean experts and specialists will be due to arrive Bahrain in November 2017 in order to showcase Korean expertise in the field of hospitals and health centres (HCs).
The anticipated visit will include representatives from the Korean private and public sectors which will provide opportunity to members of Bahrain’s health sector to view and to benefit from their expertise.
