Bahrain Robotics Festival 2018 announced

Manama, Feb.10 (BNA): Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) First Deputy Chairman and Bahrain Athletics Association (BAA) Chairman His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa issued directives to hold Bahrain Robotics Festival 2018. The festival will include both the Bahrain VEX Competition, the Bahrain national event, and the World Robot Olympiad (WRO LEG). The events are part of the initiatives of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa to support the youth programmes, in line with the directives of the wise leadership to bolster the scientific and technological march in Bahrain. “Our aim is to promote and support scientific activities to develop education and promote programmes that encourage the youth to engage in research and keep abreast of modern technologies”, he said. HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa said that the planned robotic festival would be based on the interdisciplinary and applied approach - Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
