Bahraini-Italian cultural cooperation discussed

Manama, June 10 (BNA): President of Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa received today a delegation from Matera city, Italy, comprising officials and representatives of colleges and universities. The meeting was attended by Italian ambassador to Bahrain Domenico Bellato and President of the Bahrain International Federation of Business and Professions Shaikha Hind bint Salman Al Khalifa. Discussions focused on ways of boosting bilateral relations mainly in the cultural field. The delegation presented Shaikha Mai with an official invitation to attend the concluding functions of choosing Matera "Capital of the European Culture 2019" in December. The historical Italian city was registered on UNESCO's World Heritage List in 1993 and possesses historical relations with all cultures, particularly the Arab one.
