Bangkok to host AMF 2012

BANGKOK, November 16 (TNA) - The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) will host the Asian Mayors Forum (AMF), the third of its kind, late this month to be a platform for regional mayors to share their experiences in urban management. Bangkok Governor M.R. Sukhumbhand Paribatra announced on Thursday that the 3rd AMF will be held at the Plaza Athinee Hotel in the heart of the Thai capital from November 28-30. M.R. Sukhumbhand told journalists that the three-day forum is also aimed at sharing information and experiences on solutions to urban problems and at strengthening Asian cities through regional networking and more investment in socio-economic, scientific and technological projects for the sake of sustainable development of the Asian cities in the long run. The Bangkok governor said he expects some 550 participants in the upcoming AMF 2012, 98 of whom are city mayors or governors and the rest are their spouses and delegations. (TNA)
