BMTA to launch new bus route from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Sanam Luang

BANGKOK, May 30 (TNA) – The Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) will start operation of a new bus route from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Sanam Luang on June 1. Acting BMTA director Somsak Hommuang said Suvarnabhumi Airport serves the large number of both local and foreign tourists, so the BMTA decided to launch the S1 Line bus service as an alternative for passengers to take the bus from Gate 7 on the first floor of the terminal to downtown tourist hub at Sanam Luang. The buses will operate from 6 am to 8 pm with 60 trips a day from the airport to Sanam Luang and from Sanam Luang back to the airport. The fare will be 60 baht each for the trip. The bus service will run along the motorway from the airport to take an expressway to Yommarat area and will pass through Ratchadamnoen Klang Avenue, Bang Lamphu, Khao San backpacker haven before stopping at Sanam Luang.
