Brunei Sultan Arrives In Sandakan, Sabah For Two-Day Visit

SANDAKAN (Sabah, Malaysia,) March 3 (Bernama) -- The Sultan of Brunei, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, arrived here Saturday for a two-day visit. The sultan and his 17-member entourage arrived by a special aircraft which touched down at Sandakan Airport at 9.25 am. They were met on arrival by Sabah' head of state Juhar Mahiruddin, Chief Minister Musa Aman and several state ministers. The sultan is scheduled to visit the Rainforest Discovery Centre in Sepilok and participate in a friendly badminton match at the Sandakan community hall in the evening. He is also scheduled to attend a dinner with the local community at the Libaran multipurpose hall later today before launching the Sandakan Festival at Padang Bandaran. Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah will return to Brunei Sunday morning. Sandakan is the second largest city in the east Malaysian state of Sabah. -- BERNAMA
