CHILDREN’S RIGHTS PROTECTION INSPECTORS TAKE OFFICE

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The first state inspectors for children’s rights protection took their office. Minister of Labor and Social Protection (MLSP) S. Chinzorig handed over inspector’s identification card and stamp to them on December 05 after completion of their training. MLSP, National Agency for Youth Development and Good Neighbors International Organization jointly organized the training for 38 children’s rights protection inspectors from September 18 to November 6. In recent years, the number of crimes against children’s rights has increased in Mongolia. For instance, over 120 children lost their lives due to crime. Protection of children’s rights has become a critical issue noted Minister S.Chinzorig. “The state inspectors’ role is crucial in the protection of children’s rights. I want you fully devote yourself to protect children’s rights” he said addressing the inspectors. According to the law on Infringement, state inspectors will the right to inspect breaches of children’s rights, impose penalties to violators as well as oversee child care service. The state inspector has the right to inspect 16 types of offenses or violations against children’s rights, stop them and impose penalties. E.Altanzul
