China Expresses Its Readiness To Provide More Support For Iraq Financially And Economically

BAGHDAD / NINA / Deputy Speaker Aram Sheikh Mohammed discussed with the Chinese ambassador in Baghdad, Chen Wei Zheng and his accompanying delegation, ways to strengthen and develop bilateral relations in various fields and all channels of cooperation and communication. His office said in a statement, "Sheikh Mohammed congratulated Ambassador Cheng on the occasion of his accession to the post, wishing him success in performing his tasks, praising the positive role of China in providing support and assistance to the Iraqi people and the Kurdistan region, especially in these difficult circumstances with the financial problems and the economic crisis that gripped the country due to lower oil prices." He called on the Chinese side to further initiatives and contributes in reconstructing and service municipalities' projects, stressing the importance of benefiting from the experiences of China as an industrial country and a large economic and effectively product in global markets. He added, "The Iraqi Council of Representatives is ready to work together with the embassy in the legislation of laws and issuing decisions that pushing for consolidation of relations and serve the common interests between the two countries, especially the important cases and files, adding "we need your help to look for other sources of funding because Iraq, unfortunately depends entirely on the production of crude oil as a main source." For his part, the Chinese ambassador stressed his country's keenness to build better relations with Iraq, declaring his government's readiness to provide more support for Iraq financially and economically in order to combat terrorism and continue delivering humanitarian assistance and materials for the displaced in the governorates and the Kurdistan region. / End
