BANGKOK, June 14 (TNA) – Police arrested Chinese people suspected of skimming ATM cards at shopping malls in Bangkok and Chiang Mai province and believed they stole data of about 200 cards a day. Zhong Fuhua, Lui Liming and Zhu Wanrong were arrested with three skimmers, five tiny cameras, ten electronic cards, two notebook computers, seven skimmer cables and other devices. Mr Zhong was arrested while collecting a skimmer and a tiny camera at an ATM of Siam Commercial Bank on a passage between a subway station and the Central Rama Grand Rama 9 department store in Huai Khwang district. The two accomplices were later apprehended while they were escaping on a taxi on Pracharat Bamphen 20 Road. Mr Zhong said that he visited Thailand for the first time and stayed with Mr Zhu at Nice Mansion. He was assigned to collect skimmers and cameras and bring them to their room. Zhong Lang Ming, the head of the gang who was at large, had invited him to the crime. Mr Lui was assigned to install their devices to ATMs. Mr Zhu denied all charges and insisted he was an ordinary tourist. Police said that the group had stolen ATM card data in Bangkok and Chiang Mai and more accomplices were at large. The group stole data of about 200 cards a day.
