COAL TRANSPORT ROUTE TO BE CHANGED

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Cabinet resolved to change coal transport route between Gashuun Sukhait-Gants mod border checkpoints. According to new route coal transportation will be made from Tavan Tolgoi coal mine to Gashuun Sukhait border checkpoint, from Tavan Tolgoi coal mine to Tsagaan Khad customs’ control zone and from Tsagaan Khad customs’ control zone to Gashuun Sukhait border checkpoint. The Cabinet obliged corresponding Ministers and Governor of the aimag to organize coal loading and unloading process to have less adverse impact to environment. Prior, a 120 km long queue of trucks at the Gashuun Sukhait border checkpoint was removed as a result of the Government urgent actions. However, truck queue has been formed again since March. In particular, queue of trucks in short distance transportation from Tsagaan Khad customs bonded warehouse to Gashuun Sukhait border checkpoint reached 23 km while queue of trucks in transportation route from the Tavan Tolgoi coal deposit to Tsagaan Khad customs bonded warehouse extended for 39 km.
