CONSTRUCTION OF 1008 HOUSEHOLD APARTMENTS LAUNCHED

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On June 22, a groundbreaking ceremony of ‘Green Lake’ apartment microdistirct with 1008 household apartments took place in 9th khoroo of Sukhbaatar district. It is a component part of ‘Affordable apartment’ national program by the Government. The construction of 21-storey 8 apartments and a school with capacity of 960 children on 3.8 ha of freed land started with the ceremony. Further a kindergarten with capacity of 240 children, shopping center and parking places will be built, freeing 1.57 ha of land. Contractor companies promised that the new town would be complete next year by this time, noted PM J.Erdenebat, attending the launching ceremony. “- The Government is taking numerous measures to reduce air pollution, including support of production and use of electric heater, smokeless stoves and night zero tariff on electricity in Ger districts. However, these are not absolute solution. Air pollution would be reduced, when households of ger districts are provided with apartment. This complex microdistrict is a start of the policy realization” said PM J.Erdenebat. During the PM’s visit to the People’s Republic of China last May, China made a decision to grant non-refundable aid of CNY2 billion to Mongolia and the Government decided to spend the grant aid for reconstruction of Ger districts.
