Counterfeit goods crackdown in Phuket

PHUKET, Aug 30 (TNA) - Police seized counterfeit goods, worth more than ten million baht at a warehouse in Phuket. More than 7,000 items of counterfeit goods are imitation of brand name bags, belts, sneakers and clothes. Owners of the warehouse, Mr Dambha Du, Nepalese national, who holds a work permit as Myanmar national and another suspect called Mr Lam a Vietnamese were arrested and charged with having pirated goods in their possession for selling. Officials said the raid came after complaints from tourists and owners of trademarks that low quality counterfeit goods were sold to Thais and foreign tourists in Patong area. The police investigated and found the large haul of fake goods at the warehouse. (TNA)
