COVID-19: 469 New Cases In Singapore, 15 Imported

By Massita Ahmad SINGAPORE, July 27 (Bernama) -- Singapore reported 469 new cases of COVID-19 infection in the republic Monday, with 15 of them being imported cases. In its brief noon data released here, Singapore's Ministry of Health (MOH) said all the imported cases were placed on Stay-Home Notice upon arrival in Singapore. Based on its investigations so far, MOH said there were also two cases in the community, of whom one was a Singaporean and one a work pass holder. The vast majority, meanwhile, are still foreign workers staying in dormitories. With the new figures, the total infection tally for the republic now stands at 50,838 cases. In its full data released late Sunday, Singapore classified 671 of its cases as imported, 2,165 as community cases and 47,533 as dorm residents. As at Sunday noon, 45,521 or about 90 per cent of the total cases have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities. There were 173 confirmed cases still in the hospital. Of these, most were stable or improving and no cases were in the intensive care unit. A total of 4,6481 patients who had symptoms or were clinically well but still tested positive for COVID-19 have been isolated and are being cared for at community facilities. To date, 27 people have died from complications due to COVID-19 here. Two new clusters were identified Sunday, both dormitories, at 52 Kaki Bukit Industrial Terrace and 19 Kian Teck Avenue. -- BERNAMA
