COVID-19 Tally In Indonesia Surpasses 6,000, 535 Deaths So Far

JAKARTA, April 18 (Bernama) -- The number of COVID-19 positive cases in Indonesia has surpassed the 6,000-mark, with 535 deaths recorded so far. The Indonesian Government spokesman on COVID-19, Achmad Yurianto said there were 325 new cases recorded, taking the tally of cases recorded in all 34 Indonesian provinces to 6,248. "In the last 24 hours, from Friday till Saturday noon, another 15 deaths have occurred, bringing the death toll to 535," he said, adding that Jakarta was the worst-affected area, with seven new deaths recorded during the period. The death toll in Jakarta due to COVID-19 now stands at 253 cases, followed by West Java (56 cases), East Java (49), Central Java (41) with the rest in other parts of Indonesia. -- BERNAMA
