Decision to sever diplomatic ties with Qatar backed

Manama, June 6 (BNA): The decision taken by Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and other brotherly and friendly countries to sever diplomatic relations with Qatar was strongly backed. His Majesty’s Reprsentative for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa sent a cable of support in this regard to HM King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa. “The step aims at protecting the national security of these countries against the Qatari hostile policies targeting the GCC and Arab states”, he said, backing the decision to confront subversive acts that seek to destabilise Arab countries, support terrorism and spark divisions. HH Shaikh Nasser voiced support to HM the King and leaders of brotherly and friendly states, hailing their determination to defend their countries’ security and stability. He stressed rejection of the Doha-led subversive policies to spark insecurity and instability through supporting Iran-backed terrorist groups which attempt to subvert Bahrain’s security, spark chaos and encroach on its national sovereignty, in addition to harbouring terror and extremist groups, including Al-Qaida, Dae’sh, the Houthi militias and the Muslim Brotherhood. HH Shaikh Nasser sent similar cables to His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.
