Deputy King meets Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister, Finance Minister, underlines importance of GCC collaboration

Manama, May 3 (BNA): The Deputy King, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa today received the Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, Anas Al-Saleh and the accompanying delegation, at Riffa Palace.
The Deputy King stressed that the GCC has recognised sustainability as the main driver for strengthening the region’s economic capabilities. His Royal Highness noted the importance of continuing to promote this principle, which will help the GCC maintain a steady pace of development in the face of current and future challenges.
The Deputy King also highlighted that continuing to advancing intra-regional collaboration and cooperation was a key priority, adding that this ongoing commitment has been central to accelerating growth and development across all GCC countries.
The Deputy King spoke of Kuwait’s supporting role, which he said has been a major contributor to intensifying GCC collaboration and cooperation. The Deputy King went on to highlight Kuwait’s important role in supporting the GCC Fund programme, which continues to facilitate joint GCC development work. The Deputy King then remarked on the strength of Bahrain-Kuwaiti relations, noting that this strong bond underscored the historic and deep-rooted ties among the GCC.
The Deputy King welcomed the visit of the Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and the accompanying delegation to Bahrain, who are visiting to participate in the 106th meeting of the GCC Committee for Financial and Economic Cooperation.
The Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to meet His Royal Highness, and highlighted His Royal Highness’ commitment to advancing collaboration between Bahrain and Kuwait. The Deputy Prime Minister went on to note his eagerness to participate in the 106th meeting of the GCC Committee for Financial and Economic Cooperation on 4th May, adding that he was looking forward to the final outcomes that he was confident would pave the way for a new level of GCC collaboration.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister, His Highness Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance, Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain, Rasheed bin Mohammed Al Maraj, the Ambassador of Kuwait to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Azzam Mubarak, Governor of the Central Bank of Kuwait, Dr. Mohammad Youssef Al-Hashel, The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance of Kuwait, Khalifa Mousaid Hamada, Managing Director of Kuwait Investment Authority, Farooq Bastaki, Deputy Director General of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, Hisham Ibrahim Al-Waqayan, Managing Director of International Marketing and acting CEO of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, and a number of senior Bahraini officials.
