DEWA honours second phase winners of the DEWA2021 Street Art competition

DUBAI, 5th July, 2016 (WAM) -- Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, DEWA, has honoured the winners of the second phase of DEWA2021 Street Art competition, where participants drew pictures on walls to reflect the 5 strategic pillars of DEWA’s Strategic Plan 2021.
Waleed Salman, Executive Vice President of Strategy and Business Development was also present, along with other DEWA managers and employees at the honouring ceremony.
"DEWA adopts innovation as a key pillar and a corporate value in order to carry out the National Innovation Strategy, launched by Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to make the UAE one of the most innovative countries in the world. We are implementing the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to improve government services and performance, encouraging a culture of innovation, and spreading it as a standard procedure, to develop government services, overcome challenges, and contribute to improving administrative government work," said Al Tayer.
"DEWA works to promote positive energy among our staff by providing a happy and positive work environment that motivates creativity and innovation, and improves work in general. This is done to support the directives of our wise government, our efforts to achieve the Dubai Plan 2021 for Dubai to be a city of happy, creative, and empowered people, and DEWA’s vision to become a sustainable innovative world-class utility," he added.
Waleed Salman congratulated the winners of the competition, noting DEWA’s commitment to encouraging innovation. "The competition was launched by DEWA following its success the previous year during UAE innovation week. The competition spreads strategic awareness among stakeholders, and supports DEWA’s commitment towards motivating its staff to actively participate in establishing excellence, creativity, and innovation as a daily practice," he said.
The winning team included three innovative female employees who created a design to symbolise some of the five strategic pillar of DEWA’s Strategic Plan 2021. This strategy’s pillars include Excellence in Operation, and Smart Services. The team includes Wadha Al Saberi from Distribution Power Division, Sheikha Obeid Hasan from the Strategy and Business Development Division, and Rawda Khouri, from Business Support and Human Resources Division.
The team presented three designs reflecting one pillar of DEWA’s strategy 2021. DEWA’s employees selected the best design, it was then depicted it on an 8x4ft canvas.
