Election Body Follows Up Report On Faulty Data On Voters
Jakarta, Nov 21 (Antara) - The General Elections Commission (KPU) is examining a report filed by the Gerindra Party on errors in the data for 3.7 million eligible voters for the 2014 general elections, KPU`s Chairman Husni Kamil Malik said.
"The report on the problematic data has been read by the technical team, but I have not received a map of the problem. For sure, this matter is being followed up," he stated on Thursday.
The Commission is currently fixing data entries for eligible voters at the district/city level, he added.
"We are at present monitoring and cross-checking what has been done by the local KPU offices at the city/district level," he said.
The Gerindra Party has discovered that some 3,750,231 data entries for voters for the 2014 general elections include errors.
The political party presented the findings to the Commission on November 19, for rectification and cross-checking.
Chairman of Gerindra`s Central Executive Board in charge of Advocacy Habiburokhman said the data were collected from 17 districts/cities.
He said the faulty 3.7 million data entries are over and above the already identified 10.4 million data entries that are considered to be filled with errors.
