Embassy in USA marks Bahrain Sports Day

Washington, Feb. 10 (BNA): Bahrain's embassy to the United States of America has organised a series of athletic activities for its members in Washington to celebrate Bahrain Sports Day. Bahrain Sports Day is celebrated on February 13 as per a decree issued by His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister, and supported by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee. The celebrations reflect the keenness of the wise leadership on the health and well-being of all Bahrainis. The embassy was keen to celebrate the Bahrain Sports Day for the second year in a row, in coordination with the Cultural Attaché, as the event coveys a message to the American community that the Bahraini society is open to sports and practises them as an integral part of its daily routine. The celebration of the National Sports Day was an opportunity to encourage sports and physical activities and instill a sports culture that recognises the importance of physical activity in promoting health in its physical and psychological dimensions.
