Eradicate Negative Perception Towards Disabled

KOTA KINABALU (Malaysia), Nov 26 (Bernama) -- The public should discard negative perception towards a person with disabilities, especially their participation in the development of the information technology mainstream. State resources development and information technology development assistant minister Jainab Ahmad said many among the disabled were in fact, experts in various fields, including computer operations, and contributed to national development. Describing the disabled like the rainbow which brought colour to life, she said the public should assist them in the field of information technology, and uncover their potential to become successful and useful to society. In this aspect, Jainab welcomed the West Coast Autism Association (Papabos) initiatives in bringing joy and helping the disabled. She said this when opening the Information and Communications Technology month which was organised by Papabos at SRS Seri Insan, Kolombong here Saturday. -- BERNAMA
