ERC brings relief aid to Yemen's Perim Island

ADEN, 9th November, 2016 (WAM) -- Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, yesterday brought relief aid to Perim Island in Yemen, as part of the relief and development efforts carried out by the UAE to support the Yemeni people and alleviate the suffering of the populace residing in the liberated areas. Under the aid programme, the UAE provides food and medicine, and also caters to medical requirements. On behalf of the population, Sheikh Saleh Ali Saeed Al Khazzor, Chairman of the City Council of Perim Island, thanked the UAE for its continuous support to the Yemeni people. He also stressed that the UAE's leadership and people have helped the islanders by re-building the service facilities destroyed by the al-Houthi-Saleh militias when they took control of the island.
