Excellent health service award for Kao Prangam municipality

BANGKOK, June 26 (TNA) – The municipal office of Kao Pra-ngam sub-district in Lop Buri province has received a United Nations Public Service Award (UNPSA) for its innovative and excellent health services at the Asia and the Pacific level. Representatives of the municipal office obtained the award in The Hague on June 23 for its health-oriented project for chronic patients and the elderly. Jirachai Moontongroy, permanent secretary for the Prime Minister’s Office, said the “Excellent Happy Home Ward, Kao Pra-ngam Tessaban, Lop Buri” project won the second prize of UNPSA in the category of innovative and excellent health services. It was the first time for the Thai government to successfully support a local administration organization in vying for a UNPSA award. "I do hope that the award of the Kao Pra-ngam municipal office will inspire local administration organizations and other relevant agencies nationwide to improve their public services up to international standard,” Mr Jirachai said.
