Fire damages rubber factory in Trang

TRANG, June 7 (TNA) -- A blaze at the concentrated latex factory in the southern province of Trang was put under control after it re-erupted this morning. The fire broke out last night at the Ratsada Rubbertex Co Ltd in Huay Yod district. The company is the producer of rubber for export to China for making tyre. About 200 tonnes of rubber cup lump and scrap in the warehouse caused the fire to spread quickly. About 10 fire engines were dispatched to put out the fire. The factory was totally destroyed and the cost of damage is estimated at about 10 million baht. The company has a fire insurance of about 30 million baht. The investigation is under the way to find out the cause of the fire. As the factory is located several tens of kilometres away from residential areas, overnight fire does not have any significant impact on local people. (TNA)
