Flood hit about 100 houses in Phichit

PHICHIT, July 14 (TNA) – More than 100 houses in the lower northern province of Phichit have been hit by flood, which intensified and spread to wider areas. Run-off from accumulated rainfall on Phetchabun mountain range flows into downstream canals, causing parts of the canal bank to collapse. The water overflowed its banks, flooding almost 100 houses in a village in Dongcharoen district. Those houses in flood –stricken area are now under one metre of water. A road, connecting the village are under 40 centimetres of water, making it difficult for small vehicles to pass. Chutiporn Wijitsaengsri, President of Provincial Red Cross Chapter of Phichit sent relief supplies, drinking water and medicine in an off-road pick-up truck to reach the flood-hit village. (TNA)
