Foreign minister attends Prince Saud Al-Faisal seminar

Riyadh, Feb.9 (BNA): Minister Foreign of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, has expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for bestowing King Abdulaziz Medal - First Class - on late Prince Saud Al Faisal in recognition of his efforts. This came during his participation at the Prince Saud Al-Faisal seminar held today in Riyadh as part of the 32nd session of the National Festival for Heritage and Culture in the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It was also attended by of His Royal Highness Prince Turki Al Faisal Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Adel Al-Jubeir, and Journalist Writer Dr. Abdel-Monaem Said from Egypt’s Al-Ahram newspaper. Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa affirmed that the honoring reflected gratitude to a person of high caliber in recognition of his remarkable positive impact on the Saudi diplomacy which he has led for many decades with wisdom and strength. He said that Prince Saud Al Faisal demonstrated in his epoch remarkable abilities and took crucial decisions that would remain immortal and a symbol of constructive efforts towards momentous issues, leaving behind him a monumental and effective diplomacy that has been, and will continue to be, a pillar for diplomats around the world, especially in times of crisis and adversity. The Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed his sincere pride and appreciation for being selected by the organizers of the National Festival for Heritage and Culture to be a keynote speaker on a prominent figure who had been highly influential in his career. He noted that he was fortunate to have benefited from the late Prince and to have closely worked with him for many years, known his morals and good human qualities including humility and sharp intelligence, and to have witnessed his many contributions to the Saudi, Arab and international diplomacy. Shaikh Khalid described how happy he used to be when he was with Prince Saud al-Faisal, and how he would feel confident and comfortable in his presence to discuss any issue of importance to the Arab and Islamic nations as he was a man of wisdom who represented the voice of reason and sagacity. “Prince Saud Al-Faisal’s stances were crystal clear everywhere in the Arab and Islamic world and even clearer to the Kingdom of Bahrain which he has defended with all his strength at various forums and never spared a single effort to ensure its security and stability, embodying through his authentic Arab positions, the brotherly ties of brotherhood and common destiny of the two brotherly countries and peoples throughout history.” He noted that the noble honoring of His Royal Highness Prince Saud Al Faisal testifies anew to the fact that history never forgets men’s great contributions, renowned stances or tremendous sacrifices towards their nations.
