Foundation Day of Korea Marked

Pyongyang, October 4 (KCNA) -- An event for celebrating the Foundation Day of Korea took place in front of the Mausoleum of King Tangun on Monday. Present at the event were Kim Yong Dae, chairman of the Central Committee of the Korean Social Democratic Party who doubles as chairman of the National Reconciliation Council, Kim Wan Su, director of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Democratic Front for the Reunification of Korea who doubles as chairman of the North Side's Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration, Pak Myong Chol, member of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Democratic Front for the Reunification of Korea, Choe Jin Su, presidium member of the C.C., the Democratic Front for the Reunification of Korea who doubles as chairman of the North Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification, officials of the Council for the Reunification of Tangun's Nation, officials concerned, working people in Pyongyang and overseas compatriots. A memorial service for Tangun took place. Then Yun Jong Ho, vice-chairman of the Council for the Reunification of Tangun's Nation, made a report. He said that President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il found out the ancestral father of the nation, who had been regarded as a mythical being, and demonstrated the good qualities of the Korean nation all over the world, adding their immortal exploits will be handed down through the age. He praised Marshal Kim Jong Un for glorifying the DPRK as the world's advanced and highly civilized nation and a thriving power true to the will of the great leaders. He called on all fellow compatriots to turn out in the efforts for accomplishing the national historic cause of building a reunified power, dignified and prosperous, on this land. -0-
