Four Fighter Aircrafts To Perform At LIMA 2011

LANGKAWI (Malaysia), Dec 2 (Bernama) -- Four different makes of fighter aircrafts will shake the Langkawi air space during the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA 2011) from Dec 6 to 10. Defence Ministry secretary-general Dr Ismail Ahmad said the four aircrafts that would perform are the MIG-29, Sukhoi, Eurofighter Typhoon and Hawk. "This is the first time that Eurofighter Typhoon from United Kingdom is taking part in LIMA 2011," he said during a press conference here Thursday. He said the Kris Sakti aerobatic team from the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) would make their first appearance during the exhibition, replacing the 'Red Arrows' team from Britain. "Kris Sakti's performance is expected to compete the Red Arrows at the show, public will be impressed by their performance," he said. He said, there would be 178 participants from Malaysia and 220 participants from overseas taking part in the exhibition. "This is the best opportunity for exhibitors to introduce their products, not only in Malaysia but also overseas," he said. The exhibition will open to public on Dec 9 and 10 to enable the visitors to see various types of products and equipment from 56 countries. The public can watch the air show at Langkawi International Airport, Padang Matsirat while the maritime exhibition will be held at the Awana Porto Malai. -- BERNAMA
