Government organises allegiance event for late Thai King

BANGKOK, November 22 (TNA) - More than 3,000 government officials, state enterprises' personnel and members of the Cabinet, led by Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha, have joined in a "Ruam Phalang Haeng Kwam Phakdi" or the "United Force of Allegiance" event to show nationwide loyalty for late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and the reigning Chakri Dynasty. Presiding over the simultaneously-held nationwide event at Bangkok's Government House at 8am on Tuesday, the Thai prime minister led a mass singing of the National and the Royal Anthems, followed by an oath of allegiance to late His Majesty the King and the reigning Chakri Dynasty. The prime minister also led the people from all sectors of the country to take their oath to be good Thai citizens, respect the laws, conserve natural resources and the environment for balanced and sustainable national development, participate in national reforms and support the formation of the democratic government with good governance and the rule of laws for the interest and happiness of the Thai public. A number of people joining in the event in front of the Government House also vowed that they would continue following the late and revered Thai monarch’s Sufficiency Economy Philosophy in their daily life. The late and beloved Thai King, who passed away on October 13, was the world’s longest-reigned monarch during his 70 years on the throne. (TNA)
