Hamas, Tehran develop relations

Tehran, Dec 29, IRNA - The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, and Tehran have developed ties, Mohammed Nazzal, member of Hamas political bureau said. Nazzal made the remarks Saturday in an interview with Al-Quds TV channel. Iran is one of the first countries which established relations with Hamas, he said. The first relations dates back to 1989, he added. Hamas has made bridges with all countries in the world, he noted. He called for maintaining relations with all countries to confront enemies. Elsewhere in his remarks, Nazzal described as illegal and illegitimate the recent decision made by Head of Palestinian National Authority Mahmoud Abbas to shut down the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC). Earlier, Palestine's Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in a statement denounced 'illegal dissolution of the parliament.' The decision adopted by Abbas has destroyed Palestine’s political structure and legal bodies, Hamas said, urging all the Palestinian groups and people to stand against his decision.
