Heavy rain, flood continue in South
SATUN, Aug 15 (TNA) – Many southern provinces have been hit by flooding while rainfall continues.
In Satun, many roads in the provincial seat have been under water, making it difficult for motorists to travel on flooded roads.
Heavy rain continues in the province and red flags are placed at main canals to warn local residents of raging water.
Farmers were forced to move their poultry to higher ground.
On Lipe island, officials deployed water pumps to drain water from flooded communities.
In Phatthalung, a flash flood warning was issued for people living downhill to be on alert for the next few days as heavy downpour on the Bantad mountain range could trigger a flash flood. Meanwhile, two waterfalls are closed indefinitely.
In Trang , four districts including the provincial seat have been submerged. The water level in the Trang River is stable but about 100 houses along the river have been under 50 centimeters of water.
Forest run-off hit Nayong district last night, worsening the ongoing flood. Provincial governor instructed local residents in low-lying areas to move their belonging and pets to safe areas. (TNA)
