HM King arrives in Saudi Arabia

Jeddah, May 30 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa today arrived in Saudi Arabia, where he will chair the kingdom’s delegation to the emergency Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Arab summits and the 14th Summit of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), to be held in Makkah city, at the invitation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud.
Upon arrival at the King Abdulaziz International Airport here, HM the King was welcomed by the Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Makkah Region Governor, HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, GCC Secretary-General, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, Bahrain’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Shaikh Hmood bin Abdulla Al Khalifa and the Saudi Ambassador to Bahrain, Dr. Abdulla bin Abdulmalik Al-Shaikh.
HM King Hamad was informed about an exhibition featuring the wreckage of the missiles and weapons provided by Iran to Houthi militias and by which Saudi Arabia was attacked.
In a statement, HM King Hamad extended deepest thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud for his kind invitation to GCC, Arab and Islamic countries’ leaders to participate in the emergency GCC and Arab summits, and the 14th OIC Summit, the three of them to be held in Makkah city.
HM the King stressed that holding the three summits reflect the Saudi King’s wise leadership and the tremendous efforts he is exerting to safeguard National security, and enhance joint Arab and Islamic action in order to strengthen the ability of the Arab and Islamic nation to face all issues and counter the current challenges that pose a serious threat to their countries’ security and stability.
HM King Hamad expressed confidence that in light of the patronage of the Custodian of the Holy Mosques, the summits will augur a new phase of Arab and Islamic solidarity, cooperation and complementarity that would meet the aspirations of Arab and Islamic peoples for more development and prosperity.
HM King Hamad expressed hope that the summits would come up with results and resolutions that would champion and serve the just causes of the Arab and Islamic nations.
