HM King receives UAE delegation

Manama, Feb. 9 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa returned to the kingdom today following a private visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). On arrival, HM the King received here today the member of the UAE Federal National Council (FNC), Mohammed bin Kardous Al-Amiri, and Secretary-General of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Tolerance Award, Ahmed bin Shabeeb Al-Dhahiri. The two UAE officials participated in the National Action Charter (NAC) Conference, held under HM the King’s patronage, and organised by the Representatives Council, in cooperation with the International Peace Institute (IPI), under the theme "Future Prospects, Sustainable Development and Peace".
HM the King welcomed them, hailing their participation in the key conference which reflects deep-rooted fraternal relations and growing cooperation in various fields. He took pride in strong historic fraternal ties binding Bahrain and the UAE and mutual keenness to further cement them for the common interest of both countries and peoples.
HM the King praised the important achievements made by Bahrain under the National Action Charter which represents a milestone in the kingdom’s history and laid the bases of a modern state by modernising systems, laws and the constitutional institutions. He also lauded the numerous parliamentary and legislative achievements brought about for Bahrain’s progress and prosperity.
HM the King commended the active role of the UAE, under the leadership of its President Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in boosting the GCC work, defending Arab and Islamic issues and fostering regional security and stability.
The meeting was attended by the UAE embassy Charge D’Affaires Yasser Abdullah Al Naqabi.
