Huge crowds continue to pay respects to late Thai King at Grand Palace
BANGKOK, October 31 (TNA) - Enormous crowds have constantly streamed to Bangkok's Grand Palace to pay their respects to late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, after being allowed since October 29 to enter the Dusit Maha Prasart Throne Hall, where the royal urn is placed.
The Bureau of the Royal Household has changed the opening hours of the Grand Palace to 5am daily, from 8am, and the queue card system remains cancelled due to the large number of people, but about 100 people are allowed to enter the Dusit Maha Prasart Throne Hall at a time, instead, to pay their respects before the royal urn of the late Thai King.
Meanwhile, roads around the Grand Palace remain closed to traffic to facilitate people, while police and volunteers are on standby for assisting the public, especially the elderly, waiting for their turns to pay their respects to the royal urn.
The late and beloved Thai monarch passed away at Siriraj Hospital in the capital on October 13. (TNA)
