Indian NGO Praises Malaysia's Vocational Education System

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 27 (Bernama) -- An Indian non-governmental organisation Monday praised Malaysia's vocational education system which offers skills training for students who do not excel in their academic studies. General secretary of Genesis of Educational Excellence of India, Talib Hussain said the vocational education system in Malaysia was unique, whereby it had reacted to changes in the global education system. Talib is leading a 68-member delegation comprising 13 teachers and 55 students from Rajasthan, Bihar and Madhyapradesh for a two-day visit here to know more about the vocational education system in Malaysia. "We have found the system here to be unique," he told reporters at a welcoming reception organised by the Malaysian Youth Council (MYC), Monday. Talib said he was also impressed with the unity among Malaysia's multiracial and multireligious people. "Malaysians are very friendly....and although they have different cultures and religions, they can still live together in peace and harmony. "Malaysia is one of the countries that I find to be very unique, and the beauty is the strong unity of its plural society," he added. MYC vice-president Irmohizam Ibrahim, meanwhile, said the visiting delegation was very attracted to Malaysia's cordial race relations and unity despite the diverse cultures and religions. "They want to learn from the Malaysian experience and share this with their younger generation back home," he said. -- BERNAMA
