Indonesian Lady Mountaineer Team Gears Up For Vinson Massif

Bandung, W Java, April 22 (Antara) - Indonesian Merah-Putih lady mountaineer expedition team is now gearing up to climb Mount Vinson Massif in Antarctica to hold an environmental campaign on the impacts of global warming. "The Merah-Putih Lady mountaineers have successfully climbed several summits of the world and are now gearing up for the Vinson Massif climb mission in Antarctica," pointed out the team`s coordinator Nunky, here on Tuesday. Nunky stated that the team had successfully climbed the Cartenz pyramid in Papua, Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa, Mount Elbrus in Europe and Mount Denali in Alaska and the Himalayas. The expedition to climb the Vinson Massif will commence once the paperwork is completed, Nunky added. "Good preparation works needs to be done for this expedition because the Vinson Massif is located in the North Pole, and the challenge is distinctly different from other mountain climbing experiences," Nunky clarified. On that occasion, Nunky also emphasized the Merah-Putih lady mountaineers community`s commitment to continue fostering the spirit of womanhood in actively participating toward protecting the environment and nature conservation. "Nature conservation is part of women`s work, and we have a strategic role in environmental campaigns," confirmed Nunky.
