Iran disagrees with Turkey over Egypt

Azerbaijan, Baku, July 16/ Trend N.Umid/ Iran and Turkey has a disagreement over situation in Egypt, the spokesman of Iran Foreign Ministry Abbas Araqchi told on July 16. Iran's Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Saheli visited to Turkey on Friday and discussed the situation in Egypt with his counterpart Ahmad Davudoglu. Turkey is against of ousting the President Mohammad Morsi who is supported by Sunni Islamist Muslim Brotherhood. Iran's Shia government is clearly against Morsi. Egypt's political future should be determined by its own people and any decision made by the Egyptians should be respected by everybody, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said in a telephone conversation with Egypt's interim vice president, Mohamed ElBaradei, IRNA news agency reported on July 13. Araqchi during a live press conference on state TV IRIB said that differing views of Iran and Turkey on about Egypt is undeniable. He said that Iran would continue negotiations on Egypt with other nations. On July 3, army chief and Defense Minister Abdel Fattah al-Sisi ousted Morsi - the country's first democratically elected president - after millions took to the streets demanding his resignation and early presidential elections.
